The White Octopus Hotel by Alexandra Bell

With a fantastical side, this novel centres around two lovers from different centuries who finally meet. Because the story moves between the time of the First World War, the 1930s and 2015, I had plenty to explore with author Alexandra Bell! We discussed themes, research, fashion and cocktail creations, and the equal appeal that writing for adults, YA and children holds. Most significantly, she shared with me why this one, of all her 20 books, means the most to her.
